Joni Kisro

Born and raised in Tucson, Joni has had a passion of making jewelry ever since she made her first beaded necklace in high school. Shortly thereafter, she learned silversmithing and, as she puts it, "made a lot of 'Indian-style' jewelry with turquoise, coral and other traditional stones." In the learning process she expanded into other kinds of metal art as well, learning to make copper wind chimes, quails, hummingbirds, roadrunners and eagles.

For several years she kept her passion confined to her spare time as she worked in electronics with Burr Brown Hughes and IBM. She would create her art in the evenings and visit craft shows on weekends to test the market for her art.

Finally in 1988, Joni left the hi-tech world, adopted two children and set about working full time at her creative ventures.

" I go through a lot of different phases in my creative work," she says. "At the moment I have become caught up in crafting hand made sterling silver chain necklaces and bracelets. Forming and cutting each individual link out of sterling silver wire and joining them one-by-one, is a job a lot of people think I'm crazy for doing. But I really enjoy the intricacy of the work, especially when I see the finished piece!"
